What makes Kidsfirst special?
Kidsfirst kindergartens are where local kids come to play, learn and have fun.
There is nowhere like kindy and at Kidsfirst Kindergartens, we're proud of that. Where else can local kids come for the same range of experiences? Children learn so much by playing and exploring and joining in together. That's what our environments are all about. Giving kids those opportunities to develop and learn.
Within Kidsfirst, each one of our kindergartens is unique but they all share common values. When your child comes to Kidsfirst you know they'll get our best - from a staff of fully qualified teachers, to great indoor/outdoor spaces with tons of activities and all the shades and colours of childhood.
For a hundred years, local children have loved kindergarten. It's part of our heritage as New Zealanders. It's where generations of us have made friends and discovered a joy for learning.
We've played together. Painted, danced, run and laughed. It's so much a part of growing up in our community - with other kids who live down the road and who we will probably end up going to school with. At Kidsfirst, we're at the very heart of that community.
This is where children learn to mix, join in and get along with others. It's where they start to learn the things they'll continue at school (because our curriculum is designed to lead seamlessly into primary school and to prepare your child for lifelong learning). In fact, we only employ fully trained and qualified teachers, who all hold a minimum of a Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education).
Learning is fun and learning through play is vital in your childs early years. And it's been proven successful for generations of Kiwi kindergarten kids.
We're proud that our first kindergartens were founded over a century ago and yet, today, they are relevant and appealing to thousands of Canterbury and Westland kids.
