Description

Our kindergarten caters for 24 three year olds and 30 four year olds. We are situated in central Lyttelton where the kindergarten building is set amongst mature trees on a multi level section. We are well known for our exciting ‘high hills’, an area of the playground where children can experience rope swings, physical challenges and a natural adventure playground that is perfect for socio dramatic play. These features complement our Enviroschools commitment, emergent curriculum, encouragement of physical activity and spontaneous play such as hut building, search and rescue games and imaginary worlds. The well planned, comprehensive indoor and outdoor programme caters for the individual needs of all children and is a real strength of this kindergarten.

We have close links with the local schools and community and like to utilise the local environment for learning opportunities. The culture of the kindergarten is supportive, warm and friendly. Parents and teachers acknowledge the importance of a healthy, spiritual atmosphere and we work together to achieve this. We have an open door policy and families are welcome to come and visit us at any time.
