Description

Kidsfirst Kindergartens Selwyn Street is situated in close proximity to the city in a light industrial area. We have a modern outdoor play environment with good shade areas provided by trees and shade cloth. A large veranda area enhances the easy flow of indoor and outdoor play.

Kidsfirst Kindergartens Selwyn Street consists of a diverse cultural mix of families/whanau. All three teaching staff members hold a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning.

Each session starts with a whanau time for all children, teaching staff and parents/whanau. This whanau time sets the scene for the day by welcoming everyone, informing of teacher roles for the day and provides a focus for children to start their play.

An extension programme for morning children occurs once a week. We regularly take bus trips to various locations around the city e.g. Emergency Fire Service at Christchurch Airport, or Brooklands Lagoon. Our programme allows us to take the children in small groups, by public transport, to visit the Christchurch Museum or the Public Library.

We offer a friendly, welcoming, education-based environment for your child/children.
